Counting down.....

The countdown is on! I was thinking about when I was little how time would drag on and on when you have something exciting on the horizon. So to help the next 12 days go by with some kind of excitement, Jace and I made paper chains! ( Yes just like the ones we all made in elementry school) A Disney themed craft is just what we needed to cure the cabin fever we had going on today! 12 more days and we will be in sunny California visiting Disneyland and Seaworld for Jace's 3rd birthday, and he couldn't be more excited!

Haircuts and bribes...

So every now and again I will bring home my stuff to cut the boys hair. So when Jace has his hair done at home he gets the same "special haircut treat" everytime which happens to be Oreo Funstix....and anyone who has a 2-3 year old at home knows that they remember EVERYTHING! Jace hopps up in the chair which happens to be eye level with the trash can across the room and says "Oh, who ate my special treat"!! I look to my left almost as if it were in slow motion and see that someone has polished off the box! There are 3 people living in the Seaman household and I know it wasn't me or Jace,hmmm.......DADDY!!! After a minimal meltdown I let him dig into the treat basket filled with random snacks from past holidays (only a child wouldn't care how fresh it is) and he found himself a Mickeymouse sucker. Later Bree and Jack came to get their haircuts and the bribes begun once again " Jack, do you want a special treat for your haircut too?" Of course he chose a Mickey sucker which meant Jace just had to have another. So 2 tantrumless haircuts, 1 wardrobe change for Jace, and 2 mickey suckers later the memory of those Oreo Funstix were history! Thank you Jack, Bree, and of course Mickey for saving the day!

The 2010 holiday season was good to us and went out with a bang. Our anniversary is the 30th of November so that always starts the season for us. We had dinner at the Melting Pot and saw "Morning Glory" which I can't say I recommend, it was only okay. The next few weeks were followed by my friends annual Christmas party including dinner at Texas roadhouse...Yum! Mama bears birthday (also at Texas Roadhouse...yum again), a family wedding, Ty's family in town, enjoying their family traditions, The Miracle at 2600, a carriage ride through downtown on christmas eve, the George's annual pajama exchange followed by a feast of fingerfoods, our best christmas morning yet being that Santa is now visiting an almost 3 yr old, holiday gathering at my grandmas which included BINGO!Movie hopping New years day and New Years Eve at Mandi's with some of the best friends I could ask for! Here's to 2010, and an exciting new 2011.
